About the Academy
State autonomous institution of the Ryazan Oblast "Sports center "Tennis Academy named after N.Ozerov'" was officially opened on 11 August 2015. The Academy is named after the great sportsman of the Soviet era Nikolai Nikolayevich Ozerov.
The Academy prioritizes the training of the Russian national team members, popularization of tennis in the region and development of international sport communications and relationships.
The sport facility was opened under several national and regional projects: the federal program "Development of Physical Culture and Sports in the Russian Federation for 2006-2015", the regional state program "Social and Economic Development of Human Settlements" and the Decree of the Government of the Ryazan Region dated May 29, 2015 No. 249-r.
The location of the Tennis Academy is very convenient. It is located in the city of Ryazan, which is 200 km away from Moscow (182km from Moscow’s Domodedovo airport). The transit is rather quick as there are direct buses from Domodedovo airport as well as train from Moscow Kazanskaya Station (travel time from Moscow to Ryazan approx. 2 hours 10 min). Academy also offers transit services by mini-bus or car.
Yearly the Academy hosts around 20 tournaments of various level: regional, national and international events.
In 2018 Academy was awarded the "federal innovation platform status", making it the first and so far the only facility of such kind in the country.
